Prep Information and Open Days

At Rangeville State School in Prep we are ‘Learning, Achieving and Growing Everyday’! We aim to create a relaxed, secure and supportive environment where children are encouraged to investigate and explore their individual potential. Prep lays the foundations for students to attain the skills required for success in later schooling.

At Rangeville Prep we:

  • use the Australian Curriculum for the content and achievement standards expected of Prep student’s in English, Mathematics and Science
  • implement the Early Years Curriculum Guidelines to provide a balance of the five contexts of learning including: play, real-life situations, investigations, routines and transitions and focussed teaching and learning

  • have a dedicated and experienced staff who are committed to Early Childhood education
  • are included in all of the school curriculum activities such as attending specialist lessons in Music, Physical Education, Library and Information and Communication Technologies

  • access the Reading Eggs program to promote and develop the love of reading
  • enhance learning experiences through attending Arts Council and excursions
  • promote the social and emotional development of each individual through the ‘You Can Do It’ (YCDI) program. The YCDI program is designed to teach the five foundations that young children need in order to be successful and happy. YCDI teaches students about values and these correlate with the schools values of respect, acceptance, tolerance, co-operation, self-discipline and self-belief and this is taught using early childhood strategies such as puppets and singing.

  • have spacious, well-kept grounds with well-equipped outdoor play areas designed for early childhood development

  • participate in the Prep Athletics Carnival

  • provide swimming as part of Physical Education program in Term 4
  • encourage and provide opportunities for the Prep students to be involved in the P to 3 Concert
  • access on site Outside School Care and Vacation Care programs

We encourage you to be part of your child’s education at Rangeville State School and to have regular contact with your child’s teacher. Wonderful growth and learning happens every day and we would like to share these events with you. We look forward to sharing many happy times with you as we work together to provide the best possible learning opportunities for your child.
